While Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’ is roaring high on success many complained that the biopic on Sanjay Dutt was made for whitewashing his dark image in front of the public eyes. And as reported earlier too, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma who was also not very happy about the fact of Sanjay's involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts was not dealt with in depth, confirmed that he will be making a film that tells the real story of Dutt. The movie is tentatively titled ‘Sanju: The Real Story’.
Responding on RGV’s announcement of making the film, Sanjay’s sister Namrata Dutt who was not happy with it said, “Doesn't Varma need Sanjay's approval to make it? If Sanjay gives a go-ahead, we are nobody to say no to him. His (Ram Gopal Varma) stories are dark. Why do you want to go on and on about Sanjay's life? Why is he putting us through so much pain again?”
Talking more about ‘Sanju’, she shared that it was very painful to watch and relive the memories. She shared, “We have been through every phase of what Sanjay has gone through. When he became a drug addict, we at least knew that we could help him out by sending him to rehab. But we had no control over the other incident (going to jail). It was painful and as we helplessly watched him suffer."
