Back in 2020, when the whole world was dealing with COVID 19 outbreak, actor Sanjay Dutt was fighting a battle of his own. He was diagnosed with lung cancer while filming for 'Shamshera' and in a recent media interaction, he opened up about the history of cancer in his family and shared how he felt when he was first diagnosed with it.
According to a report in The Indian Express, the actor said, “I was alone and suddenly this guy comes and tells me, ‘You have cancer.’ My first reaction was that, once you hear something like this, your whole life reflects back at you. I have a history of cancer in my family. My mom died of pancreatic cancer. My wife (Richa Sharma) died of brain cancer. So, the first thing I said was that I don’t want to take chemotherapy. If I’m supposed to die, I will just die but I don’t want any treatment.”
He further added, "I saw my family break down around me and I decided one night that if I fall sick or if I break down, they will fall sick and break down. So, I decided to fight it.” Sanjay Dutt also revealed that it was Hrithik Roshan's father Rakesh Roshan who recommended a good doctor to him.
On the work front, Sanju will next be seen in films 'Gudchadi' and 'The Good Maharaja'.
