Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has played a wide range of characters in his long and illustrious career but he is at his best while portraying grey or villainous roles. Talking about recent projects, Sanju played main antagonist Adheera in 'KGF: Chapter 2' and now he is all set to go against Ranbir Kapoor in 'Shamshera' where he will play Shuddh Singh.
In a recent promotional chat with a news outlet, Sanjay talked about his association with villainous roles. According to a recent report in ETimes, he stated, "I love playing the villain and Karan Malhotra loves to give me characters like these. I guess people love to see me as a villain on screen and I’m happy that all the films in which I have played a villain have been loved. I wish the same for Shamshera because Karan, Ranbir and the entire team have worked really hard on the film.”
Ranbir Kapoor also talked about how Sanjay Dutt's extraordinary screen presence allows him to play iconic villains. He stated, "You know even though he has played the antagonist in so many films, he still makes it different, he still makes it believable. It goes back to the old notion that a hero will only be impactful if the villain has a looming presence and I don’t think there is any actor in the Indian film industry who has the presence that Sanjay Dutt has on screen.”
Also starring Vaani Kapoor, 'Shamshera' is set to release on 22nd of July.
