Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has the capability to play a wide range of characters but usually, he is at his best while playing grey or morally obscure characters. Films like 'Khalnayak', 'Vaastav' etc are few examples of how Sanjay Dutt shines while playing dark or villainous roles.
Although Sanjay was clad in the romantic hero image at the start of his career, he pushed the envelope with the 1993 film 'Khalnayak'. Talking about the same, the actor recently told PTI, "It’s a risk that I took in my career when I played characters with different shades. It paid off because I was convinced that I could challenge myself as an actor. If I’m not convinced, then how will audiences be convinced? It was when I did Khalnayak that I realised that I should look for roles out of my comfort zone."
Sanjay then went to talk about the significance of playing larger than life characters in his career. He stated, "I believe playing larger-than-life characters is an important phase in an actor’s life because the public love these characters. I have learned this during my 40 years long career. So I prefer doing these kinds of roles and I love them."
As of now, Sanjay Dutt is awaiting the release of his film 'KGF:Chapter 2' where he'll be seen playing the main antagonist Adheera.
