On Tuesday evening, Sanjay Dutt announced that he would be taking a short break from his work assignments. Hours later, it was revealed that the Bollywood actor has been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. The action hero will be flying to the US for immediate treatment.

The news has shocked and saddened his fans and colleagues in Bollywood. The actor himself is said to be quite down. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh tweeted, "Very sorry to hear that. But Sanjay you have always been a great fighter. You shall fight this disease and WIN. Our Prayers are always with you. God bless you."

Despite the shock, Sanjay Dutt is reportedly confident of getting cured as rigorous treatment can help him get cured. Sanjay Dutt was in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital after complaining of breathlessness only a few days back.

On the work front, he will be seen as Adheera in 'KGF Chapter 2'. His Hindi-language web release 'Sadak 2' will release on August 28.
