Rajkumar Hirani's 'Munna Bhai MBBS' is one of the most iconic comedy flicks of Bollywood and a defining film of Sanjay Dutt's career as well. After it, the duo reunited for a sequel as well and ever since then, fans have been demanding a third film in the franchise. Both Sanjay and Rajkumar Hirani have expressed their interest in a third 'Munna Bhai' film but the project hasn't gotten anywhere yet.

The franchise recently completed 18 years of its release and on the ocassion, Sanjay Dutt urged fans to pressurize director Hirani to start working on 'Munna Bhai 3'. Since Hirani belongs to Nagpur, Sanjay attended a public event in the city and told people, "I am tired of requesting Raju Hirani many times. Since he hails from Nagpur, I appeal to Nagpurians to press him for making Munna Bhai franchise."

Hirani has considered several scripts for the potential third Munna Bhai film and one idea that he specifically liked was 'Munna Bhai Chale America'. However he hasn't officially locked onto any script yet.
