Sania Mirza calls India-Pakistan WC Advertisements 'Cringeworthy'

With only three days to go for the much anticipated India vs Pakistan match on June 16th, advertisements in support of the teams have been popping up on both sides of the border. India came up with an updated version of their Mauka Mauka ad, capitalizing on the match happening on Father’s Day, in which India is portrayed as Pakistan’s father.

Pakistan didn’t let it go down easy. They released their own ad in support of their team. This is a spoof of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, with a play on his responses during his capture by Pakistan, especially “I’m sorry, I’m not supposed to tell you that Sir.”

Which better person than Sania Mirza to act as a mediator in the high-tension situation. The tennis player from India, who is the wife of cricketer Shoaib Malik from Pakistan, used Twitter to air her views saying: “Cringeworthy ads on both sides of the border ?? seriously guys, you don’t need to ‘hype up’ or market the match anymore specially with rubbish! it has ENOUGH attention already! It’s only cricket for God sake, and if you think it’s anymore than that then get a grip or get a life
