The release of Adivi Sesh's upcoming biographical drama 'Major' has been postponed yet again as the Covid-19 cases continue to rise throughout the country. The film is based on extraordinary life of 26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and it is one of the highly anticipated projects of 2022. 'Major' was initially set to release in July last year but the second wave of pandemic didn't let that happen.
A new release date of 11th February 2022 was announced but recently makers shared a statement and cancelled the release. The statement read, "Owing to the aggravation of the covid situation and curfew/limitations in most parts of the country, the release of Major stands postponed. We would announce a new release date soon. Please adhere to all covid protocols and stay safe. Our nation isn’t safe, till each one of us is safe."
'Major' is a passion project for Adivi Sesh and he doesn't want it to release on OTT. He also considers Major Sandeep a personal hero and has prepped extensively to play him accurately.
