Gully Rowdy, starring Sandeep Kishan and directed by G Nageswara Reddy released its first look poster recently, which have received thumbs up from the movie buffs. The film that showcases Sandeep Kishan in the titular role, is widely believed to be a copy of Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara-starrer Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
Gully Rowdy tells the story of a youngster, who wants to become a thug, but ends up becoming a small-time street rowdy. The story of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan is more or less the same and it is not yet clear whether Nageswara Reddy has bought the rights of the Tamil film or went ahead as an inspiration.
Produced by Kona Venkat and MVV Satyanarayana, Gully Rowdy was initially titled Rowdy Baby, but the makers have changed the title after producer Dil Raju requested the same. A major portion of the film was wrapped up in Visakhapatnam. Neha Shetty, who made her Tollywood debut with Mehbooba, is playing the female lead of the film.
The film marks the second collaboration of Sandeep with Nageswara Reddy after Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. The teaser of Gully Boy will be released by Vijay Deverakonda on Monday evening. Also starring Bobby Simha, Rajendra Prasad and Posani Krishna Murali, the film is slated to release in the second half of this year.
