Sanam Shetty who rose to fame after the reality show BigBoss recently made headlines when she lodged a complaint against a stranger who sent abusive messages to her. The culprit was caught and remanded to judicial custody.
Today she released a statement in which she thanked the police officials who helped her in the case she filed against an unknown person who repeatedly sent death threats to her.
Her statement reads "My heartfelt thanks to the Chennai Police Department and District Commissioner sir (Adyar) for helping me.The last few months I have been receiving violent death threats on Instagram & Twitter. Initially I turned a blind eye to it until the harassment escalated to messages on my private number also threatening my family. Offender seemed to have gathered my personal information. An official complaint was filed and the offender identified as Roy John Paul was tracked down very promptly by the Chennai Police. Necessary actions are being taken now to find out about his motive.
"To everyone out there who face similar situation I will say this "Its NOT OK to put up with Harassment of any sorts. Speak up, get help. Your actions will help others too." The police are very proactive and helpful. Thanks to all of you who have supported me with kind words which have given me strength in the past few days", the statement added.
She also made it clear in her captions that it was not related to pornography-related issues rather its is repeated death threats. She requested the press to update the information provided by her and thanked them for their support.
