The coming months are so crucial for Samuthirakani, as the director and the actor in him will come out in open, in the form of 'Saattai' and 'Poraali', respectively. While 'Poraali' is all set for release on December 1, about 75 percent of shoot is over for 'Saattai'.

In 'Saattai' directed by Anbazhagan, Samuthirakani, the wicked 'chithappa' of 'Subramanyapuram', plays a teacher. "The film is about the bonding between teachers, parents and children. Samuthirakani is a correct fit to the role and I am happy to direct an ace director," Anbazhagan says.

The filmmaker adds: "Recently, we screened the rushes of the film and every one of us, including Samuthirakani, is happy with the output. It is not true that the movie will be on the lines of Pasanga. The film is a different take on students' life and other things."

Meanwhile, the Sasikumar-starrer 'Poraali', directed by Samuthirakani, is about the struggle everyone faces in day to day life. Talking about the film, the director says, "It is not a revolutionary theme and there will be no violence. Things are told in a subtle and interesting way."
