Director Samuthirakani, known for his hits like Nadodigal and Poraali, has been a most wanted supporting actor too, and has starred in many movies like Kaala, Velaiyilla Pattadhari,Massu engira maasilamani, Subramaniapuram etc, besides also playing the lead roles in movies like Saattai, Appa and Thondan.

The director, who had previously debuted as a director in Telugu with Shambo Shiva Shambo, the remake of his Nadodigal in 2010, is all set to make his debut as an actor in Tollywood, and the same was confirmed by the actor himself in a recent media interview. Samuthirakani will reportedly play a key role in grand maker SS Rajamouli's upcoming 300 crore biggie RRR starring Ramcharan and Jr NTR.

The actor, who had been a friend of Rajamouli since Nadodigal days, was reportedly invited by the director to his residence before few months, and was told by the maker to act in his movie. Even when Samuthirakani had given an instant nod, Rajamouli had reportedly narrated the whole story and only then told him to accept the movie. Samuthirakani also said that he's planning to gift the hit novel "Velpari" to SS Rajamouli, as he firmly believes he can make a movie out of it.
