Director-Producer Naveen of 'Moodarkoodam' fame is back after a pretty long break with 'Kolanji'. Naveen is producing this film under his White Shadow Studios banner. Dhanaram Saravanan a former associate of directors Chimbudevan and Naveen makes his directorial debut with this flick.

'Kolanji' is the storyof a 12 year old boy who wants to live life on his own terms and his father who wants to grow his children in a highly discipilined manner. Samuthirakani plays the father's role while Sanghavi makes a comeback in this film as the child's mother.

Rajaji who played one of the leads in 'Moodar Koodam' and newcomer Nena Sarvar have played other important roles. The supporting cast includes Kribakaran. Nasath, Rajin.M,'Pichaikkaran' Moorthy', Rujil Krishna, 'Nadodigal' Gopal, Rekha Suresh, Aadhira and others.

The film has been shot in villages like Rasipuram and Kokkarayan Pettai.

The 'Kolanji' team is currently busy with the final stage of the post production. The audio release is expected to happen soon.
