We know India is the one of the largest markets for smartphones. Word is that the country is also surpassing US to gain the second spot in terms of smart phones usage. So setting up the world’s largest phone manufacturing unit in the country is not surprising after all.

Yes, Samsung Electronics Co. has set up the world’s largest phone manufacturing unit in the outskirts of Delhi. The factory was inaugurated by Narendra Modi and South Korean president Moon Jae. The unit will be able to manufacture about 120 million phones per year. The entire construction phas e is expected to end by 2020.

The manufacturing unit will be making low end phones to its flagship Samsung S9 models. Samsung has also stated that it will work in tandem with Government policies to enable the country to become the world’s largest export hub for mobile phones.
