'Samar' is directed by Thiru of the 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai' fame which has Vishal and Trisha pairing up for the first time. It is said that the actres has accepted this offer after declining offers such as 'Thoranai' 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai' and 'Vedi' where she got to do a role with Vishal. Sunaina is also said to do a role in the film. The stills of the duo has already been released which seems to be like a promising couple on the screen. The film has Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring for the songs while Richard M Nathan in charge of the camera.

Thiru's 'Samar' was to be released on the 28th of December along with 8 more other films. But now, it seems that the director has postponed the release of the film for a better date. The director tweeted in his blog saying "Samar will not be releasing on 28th December, pushed the release for better date." The film is said to hit the screens by Pongal. And this is one way good news for Vishal as his 'Madha Gaja Raja' directed by Sundar C is also likely to be released then.
