Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are in the limelight ever since Sam dropped her surname Akkineni on her social media profile. Many read this as proof of things not going well between the Maijli stars.

It was also reported that Samantha's father in law Naga Chaitanya and close family members were trying for a patch-up between the couple and things are slowly returning to normalcy.

But things got fueled up after Samantha's cold reaction to her husband Chay's new film trailer. Samantha who usually heaps him with praises did not even mention him in her tweet and tagged only her friend Sai Pallavi who plays the lead heroine opposite Naga in the film. She wrote, "WINNER!! All the very best to the team @Sai_Pallavi92 Hugging face.. #LoveStoryTrailer."Her tweet has now caught everyone’s attention with some fans questioning why she didn’t tag Naga Chaitanya; and, this has once again added fuel to their divorce rumours. On the other hand, others defended Sam quoting that she had reshared Chay’s tweet so there was no need to tag him and rubbished the divorce rumours.

After nearly seventeen hours, Chay replied to her tweet and thanked her for her wishes. He wrote, "Thanks Sam". It was also reported earlier that they have been living separately for a while now and already began the divorce proceedings in court. Samantha and Chaitanya, famously called ChaySam by their fans, got married to each other in 2017 in a lavish yet private wedding in Goa.
