The Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster '96' was launched today in Hyderabad. Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni are the lead pair.

Speaking on the occasion, producer Dil Raju said, "The audience have always embraced the feel-good love stories that have come forth from our banner. We hope that '96' too will be accepted by the audience. C Prem Kumar, who directed the original, is wielding the megaphone."

The film will go on the floors in the second half of April. "It will be shot in Kenya for fifteen days. Later, we will shoot it in Hyderabad and Vizag," the producer said.

The entire shoot will be completed by the end of July.

Music is by Govind Vasantha. Cinematography is by J Mahendran. Written by Mirchi Kiran, its art direction is by Ramanjaneyulu. Editing is by Srikar Prasad.
