Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to kick off 2023 with an upcoming film, Shaakuntalam. The actress on Monday took to social media to announce the new release date. The film will now release on February 17, 2023.

Samantha took to her official Twitter page on Monday to announce the new release date of Shaakunthalam. “Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in theatres from Feb 17th 2023 Worldwide! Also in 3D,” she wrote in the tweet. The Telugu film was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on November 4, 2022, but the release was delayed to make the film available in the 3D format as well.

Along with this a new poster was also released by the team. The poster had Samantha and Dev Mohan sharing a romantic moment. Shaakuntalam will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film will also be available in 3D, promising a visual treat to movie buffs.

Shaakunthalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, portrayed by Yashoda star Samantha and Dev Mohan respectively. Based on Kalidasa's acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, the film is written and directed by award-winning director Gunasekhar.
