The leading actress Samantha has a handful of films slated for release in her kitty. While the motion poster and release date of her upcoming mythological drama 'Shaakuntalam' was revealed last week, the makers have announced a change in the release date of the movie today.

Shaakuntalam was announced to hit the screens on November 4 initially. Now, the team has decided to push the release to a later date as they have opted to upgrade the movie to 3D technology. The production house took to social media to share a statement regarding the delay. The statement read:

"WE AIM TO GIVE A BIGGER EXPERIENCE WITH 'SHAAKUNTALAM' AND IMMERSE YOU IN THE 'WORLD OF SHAAKUNTALAM', FOR WHICH WE AS A TEAM FELT 3D WOULD BE A BRILLIANT WAY. TO FACILITATE THIS, WE WOULD BE TAKING SOME TIME TO PUT FORTH AND SO, WILL BE UNABLE TO MEET THE EARLIER ANNOUNCED DATE OF RELEASE. WE THANK THE SUPPORT AND LOVE SHOWERED UPON US, WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING FROM AROUND THE WORLD, HOPING FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THIS TOO!

WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE NEW RELEASE DATE SOON."

Samantha plays the titular role of Shakuntala and actor Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of the Puru Dynasty. Shaakuntalam's star cast includes Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar Kabir Bedi, Dr. Mohan Babu Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles.
