Samantha: Mani Ratnam's 'Pookadai' lady!

Lady luck is working overtime for Samantha, what with the promising ventures that she is bagging with each passing day. The latest is that Samantha will be the lead lady of Mani Ratnam’s forthcoming, ‘Pookadai’! Can a budding actress ask for more?

Sources close to the actress have confirmed this news to IG. In fact, earlier she had given a screen test with Mani Ratnam but it failed to click. But Mani is said to have called her back to play the female lead as she fits the bill well.

‘Pookadai’ is the acting debut of Karthik’s son Gautham in Tamil cinema and also stars ‘Action King’ Arjun and Lakshmi Manchi in important roles with music by Isai Puyal AR Rahman.

Samantha currently has a trilingual with her mentor Gautham Menon, which is touted to be a romantic treat to movie goers all over the country this Valentines Day.

With a string of promising ventures in her kitty, Samantha is definitely here to stay! Great going girl…
