Actress Samantha lands in Chennai – here is why

South Indian star Samantha Akkineni who recently wrapped up shooting for Gunasekhar’s ‘Shaakuntalam’ in Hyderabad has flown to Chennai to complete her portion in Vijay Sethupathi’s next ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal’. 

The film is touted to be a triangular love story and features Nayanthara and Samantha in lead roles opposite Vijay Sethupathi. According to sources the makers are keen to release the film later this year or early next year.

Samantha Akkineni, who recently penned an emotional post as she bid goodbye to the cast of Shaakuntalam, took to Instagram on Tuesday, August 17, to reveal that she is back to shooting for Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadha. She posted a photo of her and her makeup artist, Sadhna Singh and wrote, ”  ✈️ ??☀️???? We wish ☹️. Reality: Back to shoot #kaathuvaakularendukaadhal”.

Vignesh Shivan kickstarted the shoot in Hyderabad earlier this year and the second schedule is about to begin in Chennai. This rom-com will be co-produced by Vignesh under his banner Rowdy Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander will compose music for the film and the technical team includes Vijay Kartik Kannan and A Sreekar Prasad for cinematography and editing, respectively.
