'Shaakuntalam' is going to hit the screens on February 17. On Monday, at the film's trailer launch event, director Gunasekhar couldn't fight back his tears.
Speaking on the occasion, the 'Okkadu' filmmaker said that every director needs the support of a passionate producer. He put Dil Raju, the film's presenter, alongside the likes of MS Raju, MS Reddy and C Aswini Dutt. The film is produced by Neelima Guna, the filmmaker's daughter.
As the 'Rudhrama Devi' maker made the remarks, Samantha Ruth Prabhu turned emotional. She was seen at the event holding a 'japa mala' in her hands. She has taken to chanting and spiritual pursuit in recent times, ostensibly to stay strong at a time when she is battling Myositis.
The 'Choodalani Undhi' and 'Sainikudu' maker further said that 'Shaakuntalam' has been made by following proper filmmaking norms. "The pre-production took one year, while the post-production took about 1.5 years. The shoot took six to seven months," the director said.
