Days after Samantha opened up about suffering from a rare autoimmune condition called myositis, her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya reportedly made her a phone call and received health updates while also wishing her a speedy recovery.

According to recent reports, Samantha’s former husband and Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya was planning on visiting the actress along with his father Nagarjuna. However, professional commitments apparently restricted their conversation regarding Samantha’s health to a phone call. The information, however, has not been confirmed by either party involved.

The actress took to her Instagram account last week to reveal her diagnosis. Her post read, “Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis.”

“I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon,” she added.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation in October last year via their respective social media accounts after four years of marriage. “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay (Chaitanya) and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us,” their joint statement read.
