Samantha files defamation petition against YouTubers

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has decided to teach gossip-mongers a lesson. Ever since her divorce from Naga Chaitanya was rumoured, a few YouTube channels resorted to maligning her image by spreading canards. To checkmate them and make them pay for the lies, the star actress has approached a local court in Hyderabad.

Her lawyer, in a petition to the court, has named three YouTube channels, adding that the channels resorted to fake news and malicious lies about his client's personal life.

If the YouTube channels are found guilty, the 'Majili' and 'Shaakuntalam' actress will get to claim damages.

In the light of several YouTube channels going berserk indulging in harmful lies about celebs, moves like this one are needed the most. Last year, actress Rakul Preet Singh got a directive issued by the Delhi High Court against TV channels and websites mentioning her name in the drugs case. After the court directive warning the media, none of them could dare to drag her name in the issue in a baseless manner.
