Is Samantha's 'U Turn' a hit or a flop? Latest trade reports suggest that the mystery thriller didn't cover itself in glory at the box-office. The remake, directed by Pawan Kumar, has only incurred losses.

The film's theatrical rights were bought by different distributors for Rs. 9 Cr. They were looking at the track record of the subject, given that it was a big hit in Kannada. However, the film ended with a share of Rs. 6.50 Cr.

It seems the release of 'Shailaja Reddy Alludu' on the same date affected the thriller in a big way. It picked up from Day 4 but it was too late and too little. Had 'U Turn' had no major competitor, it might have collected more. It's not like the Naga Chaitanya-Maruthi starrer was a hit either.
