The above descriptions of the two characters in 'Mahanati' are a feminist's delight.  More often than not, female characters in our movies are described in relation to their male counterparts.  In the case of 'Mahanati', it's a complete reversal!  

Credit goes to director Nag Ashwin for penning a strong role for Samantha.  As Madhuravani, her character is strongly etched in the Savitri biopic.  So much so, even in a milieu marked by the domineering presence of Savitri (Keerthy Suresh), Madhuravani holds her ground till the end.  Even the 'Arjun Reddy' actor gets overshadowed.
