Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' that went on floors in early February this year is fast nearing completion and the makers are planning for a Diwali release in October 2017.The audio release is scheduled to happen in Chennai on August 20, 2017 which is less than a couple of days away from now.

Now Samantha who plays one of the female leads in the film has confirmed in her official Twitter handle that she has completed her portions for the film. 'Mersal' is her third film with Vijay after 'Kaththi' and 'Theri'. She has said "it was an absolute pleasure working with him (Vijay)" and called him a "man of few words" and a "friend".

'Mersal' stars Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon as female leads. A.R.Rahman has provided the music score for this Atlee directorial produced by Thenandal Studios banner.
