Samantha commends the bravery of victims

Samantha Akkineni is glad that many women are coming out in the open against sexual predators in the wake of the Me Too movement taking root in India.

"I am so happy that more and more women are finding the strength to say #MeToo. Your bravery is commendable. I am sorry though that some people, even other women themselves will shame and burden you with the question of proof and doubt. Just know that you are saving many little girls with your voice. Thank you. I support the #MeTooIndia movement," the 'Rangasthalam' and 'U Turn' actress writes.

Samantha is one of the first star actresses in south India to give a heart-felt appreciation of 'Me Too'.  Her friend, Chinmayi Sripada, has been an active participant in the online movement.  She has seconded the account of a victim of sexual harassment, where the perpetrator is Varaimuthu, a legendary lyricist in Tamil cinema.
