Samantha Akkineni was recently quoted as saying that she will be retiring after 2-3 years. The star actress has clarified in her latest interview that her comments were quoted out of context by the media.

"I never meant to say that I will bid a goodbye to the film industry in three years. As an actress, I have been around for more than 10 years. It's a big deal in the film industry, where female actors don't enjoy a long career. I will be very much around in some way or the other in films. In what ways I will be in the film industry is something I myself don't know. You can't plan some things. I might take a break tomorrow. It's not about retirement," Samantha said.

Speaking at the film's 'Thank You' meet on Sunday evening, the 'Majili' and 'Oh Baby' actress thanked the media for supporting 'Jaanu', her latest box-office release. "Director C Premkumar changed a little bit of the tone of '96' in remaking the movie," she added. The film stars Sharwanand as the hero and has critically-acclaimed music by Govind Vasantha.
