Samantha as Madhuravani looks so ethereal

Releasing the First Look poster of Samantha's character in 'Mahanati', the makers have said that the Akkineni actress will be seen as Madhuravani in the biopic.  Noticeably, Madhuravani is Savitri's name in the film 'Kanyashulkam'.  Sam plays a Bachelor of Arts par excellence in this Nag Ashwin-directed movie.

"Really happy to be a part of such a wonderful film. I hope you love Madhuravani as much as I loved being her," the 'Rangasthalam' actress notes.  After excelling as Rama Lakshmi, she is expected to have us marvel at her in this film, too.

Contrary to what has been believed, Vijay Devarakonda only has a cameo in the film.  Mickey J Meyer is the music director.  The film will hit the screens on May 9.
