Samantha Akkineni's bold statements on star heroes

Samantha was called a flop heroine by a popular Mumbai-based online portal, and this was when Jaanu failed in doing well at the box office. This film cannot be called a blockbuster, but the actress has received critical acclaim for her performance as Jaanu, which she did with ease.
But neither Samantha, nor any other artiste in the industry could take this ‘flop’ heroine comment and many have come to her rescue. Those comments have Samantha think twice of what is actually happening in the industry.
She said, “If a star hero’s film flops three times, audiences will still go and watch the fourth film. For them, even their favourite actor walking on the screen is enough. Unfortunately, they blame the heroine for the flop.”
The actress expressed that she feels people don’t give importance to women centric films. “Just because Oh Baby! is a hit, I cannot do another woman centric film. This is because people will not accept a solo film again. Also, I don’t understand why women don’t get equally paid like men. Women are working as hard as women,” added the actress.
Currently, Samantha is waiting for the release of her digital debut show The Family Man. The actress is part of the second season and she will be seen portraying negative shades in this series. Also, rumours suggest that she has walked out of Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara’s film. The actress is yet to respond over this.
Regardless of what online reports say or social media users comment, Samantha will always remain one of the finesse actors in Telugu cinema.
