December 21 witnessed the release of 5 movies in Kollywood, and among the five, Home movie makers production's Adangamaru directed by debutant Karthik Thangavel and starring Jayam Ravi, Raashi Khanna, Azhagamperumal, Sampath,Mime Gopi, and Munishkanth has emerged the most successful.

With the movie registering good collections and extending the box office winning streak of the young hero Jayam Ravi after the space flick Tik Tik Tik, the team had conducted a success meet in Chennai recently, during which music director Sam CS revealed his weird encounter with police.

Sam CS, during his speech, said that he had never been to theatre visits for any of his films and had gone to Madurai upon the request of Jayam Ravi and the director, and was surprised to see the mad rush in theatres screening Adangamaru and cops controlling the crowd. He was eventually lathi-charged by a cop and Karthik Thangavel had not mentioned he was the music director of Adangamaru, said Sam CS. Later when Karthik Thangavel spoke, he said jokingly that he had deliberately not revealed to the cop of Sam CS identity, and watched him getting beaten and later told the cop that he's the composer.
