The rampant protests agaisnt the IPL culminated in some unexpected violence and hurling shoes at players during the CSK vs KKR match held recently. Though it is considered a victory for the protest in one hand, it has also come off as disappointing for sports fans in the city as the scheduled matches have been shifted to various other locations.

Sam Billings who is a star player of CSK, took to his social page to express his sorrow at the fact that the remaining ‘home’ games had to be played elsewhere. "Thoughts with the fan who was badly hurt last night, no one should go to watch & end up in hospital. Hope he recovers soon & all issues are resolved. Keep supporting us it makes a huge difference!" he said.
