Salute to exhibitor R Veeranna, donates eyes

A highly respected exhibitor R Veeranna, father of former KFCC President KV Chandrasekhar, KV Dhananjay, Supreme Court advocate and three daughters passed away recently. Veeranna aged 84 passing away has left a strong void. Even in his death Veeranna of Veeresh, Veeresh Mini and Vishaal theatres donated eyes to Dr Rajakumar Eye Bank.
As an agriculturist, PWD contractor R Veeranna started Shanthala theatre in 1972, he gave a new look to Shanthala and named it as Veeresh theatres on Magadi Road and a mini theatre was also set up at that place. The Rudresh theatre was reconstructed according to the changing system and named it as Vishaal. In all theatres the prominence to Kannada theatres was attached from the beginning.
Veeranna served in KFCC for a long time and held positions in other organisations. He was in Congress I as an active member, at the centenary celebration of Indian cinema he received honor from President of India Mr Pranab Mukherjee, 75 years of Kannada cinema M Veeranna was felicitated.
