`Salute' is nothing but showcasing the life sketch of BC Patil the current legislator from Hirekerur constituency plus his intentions of reaching the top positions in the political life. In bringing his life sketch BC Patil the cop turned politician has lifted some the scenes from Salman Khan starring `Garv' - Pride and Honor to offer a commercial cinema. This film appears to have been made in a hurry and Patil physical looks has come as a big disturbance. His movements are not fast but his intentions are good to give a crime free rule to the people.

The crime branch DCP BC Patil is an encounter specialist and he has full powers from his superiors. The disgruntled elements find it tough and take serious note of the cop Patil passes. In the clash BC Patil is framed for killing the innocents who are actually not. Around this time the political heads also change. Even before he is asked to resign the tough cop Patil resigns his job. He is not set free but kept in Hindalga Jail in Belgaum for 15 days. This is the place where he meets the innocent farmers and on their demand joins politics. As an independent candidate in a narrow margin he wins the Assembly election and the one seat of Patil becomes very crucial for forming the government. Patil using the chances demands Home Ministry. The intention of this demand is to set everything in right order. He succeeds as Home Minister but again he is a bitter pill for the crooks. Such a stiff and disciplined ruling shake the position of Chief Minister. How Patil becomes the Chief Minister of the state is the climax of the film.

BC Patil age and at this stage has got the right role but he looks very obese on the screen. The dialogues are well measured and the dream of good governance is a notable aspect from him. Ashwini as lady cop shines in the second half. Vijay Kaundinya is a good selection for the villain role from this film. He has a bright future.

Only one song Onchuru Onchuru is passable from newcomer Saikarthik. Niranjan Babu Camera work is quite OK. Lot of stock shots used for this film disturbs the quality on screen.

For action lovers this is a passable film.

Scoring 6/10
