Salman's Being Human's debut production

Salman Khan's charity organisation Being Human now enters the filmdom as a production banner... After Akshay Kumar produced a Canadian film (Breakaway/Speedy Singhs), it's the turn of the 'Dabangg' star to enter the international zone.

Titled ‘Dr. Cabbie’, the film will be by one of Canada’s most acclaimed Directors’, Jean-Francois Poulliot (La Grande Seduction). The film will be presented by Salman Khan Being Human (SKBH) Productions and will be co-produced by FirstTake Entertainment and Caramel Films.

"Dr. Cabbie is the story of an Indian immigrant and it has an inherent universal appeal," said Salman while speaking about the film. The film reported to have commenced its principal photography recently.

The film stars ‘Speedy Singhs’ famed actor Vinay Virmani, Adrianne Palicki (GI JOE), Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory), Lillete Dubey, Mircea Monroe (Change Up), Rizwan Manji (Outsourced), Chris Diamantopoulos (The Three Stooges) and will also launch newcomer Isabelle.

‘Dr. Cabbie’: An unemployed doctor turned cab driver becomes a local hero when he converts his taxi into a mobile clinic. ‘Dr. Cabbie’ is the heart warming journey of a young Indian Doctor who immigrates to Canada with the selfless ambition of healing others while beginning a new life in the land of opportunity. ‘Dr. Cabbie’ discovers his true purpose and true love when he embarks upon this journey of a doctor turned cabbie.

While Director Jean-Francois Pouliot stated, "Dr. Cabbie is a timeless story that audiences will identify with, blending social issues and the journey to find one’s place in the world". He added, "We are thrilled to have such a talented cast who will tell this humorous and heart warming story."

‘Dr. Cabbie’ has been made possible by funding from Telefilm Canada, SODEC and Harold Greenberg Fund. The film will be distributed in Canada by Entertainment One. EROS International will distribute ‘Dr. Cabbie’ in the Indian Sub-Continent. ‘Dr. Cabbie’ is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2013.
