Remember 'Tere Naam'? Salman Khan was jailed in April 10 2003 for the famous black bug case in Jaipur and later granted bail. 'Tere Naam' released on 15 August 2003 opened to an earth shattering Friday that day.
Those who are worrying about the 300 odd crores riding are just uninformed frogs.
The sympathy wave for Salman Khan gave 'Tere Naam' its biggest day. Salman was going through a lean phase at that time and in fact the arrest and jail created the sympathy wave and 'Tere Naam' saw a phenomenon Friday.
This case is much serious. Salman is a much bigger star now. It`s the world of multiplex and massive weekends. Salman Khan has emerged as a bigger icon - Being Human.
Even a single day`s jail and later bail (which is most likely the case) 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' should be the phenomenon box office Friday is looking for.
Yes! Justice should and will prevail. The guilty will be punished. But Bollywood will see a volcanic historic Friday with 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'.
And if Salman Khan remains in jail during the release.. The tsunami of sympathy towards this immensely popular massy superstar will be unbeatable.
As far as Bollywood box office is concern - 300 crores (riding on Salman Khan) is not at all at stake on the contrary its adding more and more cherries to its cake....
