Salman Khan summoned by court for allegedly misbehaving with a journalist: Details

Bollywood star Salman Khan has been summoned by a Mumbai court to appear on April 5 in a 2019 case filed by journalist Ashok Pandey, who had accused the actor of assaulting him after he tried to film Salman, who was riding a bicycle then.

Summons have been issued against Salman and his bodyguard by the Andheri Metropolitan Court in Mumbai on Tuesday. As per reports, Ashok Pandey, a film journalist had filed a ‘private complaint’ in the court of RR Khan, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Andheri, under IPC sections 323 (causing hurt), 392 (robbery), and 506 (criminal intimidation). The complaint states that the incident happened on April 24, 2019, when Salman was riding a bicycle escorted by two bodyguards.

The journalist apparently started filming the actor after seeking permission from his bodyguard. However, Salman allegedly assaulted him later and also snatched his phone. “Due to COVID-19 the matter got delayed, I was pursuing it since the day the incident took place and finally, I am happy the court has taken cognizance of my complaint and issued process against the actor,” Pandey was quoted as saying.
