Superstar Salman Khan's magnum opus Kick' scheduled for a 25th July release might be postponed to 29th July to release on the day of Eid as per the demands of the films distributors.

According to reports available from the sources in the industries distribution circuits, Salman Khan' s most awaited Eid Bonanza this year is releasing on 25th of July – that means the movie will face the four day Ramadan fasting period which is not considered to be favorable for the box office as experts put an average of 40 – 45 percent loss of business for any movie releasing during that period. Humpty Sharma is the latest casualty - it has earned a handsome around 30 crores for the weekend but the collection could have being much better if it would have avoided the Ramadan release period.

Considering the huge mass following of Salman Khan and his dominance over mass center pockets, the single screen audience and Muslim community many distributors especially in UP, Maharashtra, Rajashtan, Madhya Pradesh are lobbying for a Eid festival date - 29 July release to reap in maximum.

The movie has generated tremendous curiosity right from its announcement and the trailer set a new trend, the song Jumme Ki Raat is swelling in popularity hour after hour so no distributor wants to miss the earth shattering opening a Salman Khan starrer should enjoy on Eid.. a Ramadan period release won,t give the expected opening.

Adding another angle to the story an insider in the distribution circuits on condition of anonymity puts in, "God Forbid, if Kick' falls below expectations as an entertainer then whether the Eid festival coming four days after the release of the film will be able to cover up for the four days negative word of mouth is a concern. Jai Ho' had Salman Khan in its complete element but the movie performed below expectations at the box office. Salman Khan doesn,t want this to happen with him and his film Kick' on Eid and he wants to be ahead in numbers once again..

On the other hand Nadiadwalas and UTV had not spoken on this views expressed by distributors and till the filing of this report are sticking to 25th July 2014 release.

According to a close hand the makers are confident about Kick' and are hoping a phenomenal weekend in spite of four days of Ramadan and believing the Eid festival will boost positive trend giving them the collections they are hoping for (around 150 crore is projected) for the week.

It must be noted that the distributors who have taken this film on huge price are wishing for a Tuesday 29 th July Eid day release presenting a bigger six days weekend meaning more profits and most probably more records at box office.

Whereas the exhibitors want to know what will they run for four days from Friday to Monday if the release of Kick' is postponed for a Eid day 29 th June 2014 release.. major exhibitors are planning to hold around 10 to 15 shows per day of Kick.

According to sources, Sajid Nadiadwala and UTV Motion Pictures, are planning to surpass YRF's Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3' 4700 screens record by going for 5,000 screens for Kick'.

It will be interesting to see how, and when Salman Khan starrer Kick' kicks it hard at the box office on its scheduled 25th July or on 29th July Eid Festival.
