Court's decision on Salman Khan's blackbuck poaching case

It’s a well known fact that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was earlier accused of killng two blackbucks which is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act. The incident happened during the shooting of the movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in the village of Kankani, Jodhpur.

Salman Khan is convicted under sections 9 and 51 of Wildlife Protection Act for which the maximum sentence is six years.In this two decades old blackbuck poaching case, actor Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothai have been acquitted. It is also worth mentioning here that Salman was earlier acquitted by the Bombay High Court in the 2002 hit and run case.
