Bollywood heart throb Salman Khan, who is yet to come out from the trial in the infamous hit-and-run case has once again landed himself in an additional legal turmoil. According to reports Salman Khan has been booked by the Mumbai police for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a community.
Reports claim a Mumbai resident Mohammad Asim Mohammad Arif has lodged a complaint against Salman Khan's NGO Being Human. Arif in his complaint alleges that in a fashion show organized by Salman Khan's NGO Being Human, a model walked on the ramp wearing a T shirt containing a verse inscribed in Arabic which has sparked row among the Muslim community
Mohammad Asim Mohammad Arif briefing the media said, "It is really embarrassing and disgusting to have Arabic verse inscribed on the t-Shirt and that too by a lady model displaying her curves. It has truly hurt the religious sentiment of the community and Salman Khan ought to apology for the disgraceful act.”
Dilip Chavan, Investigating Officer, investing the case confirmed the report. He said, "It is true that Salman Khan has been booked under IPC Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) on the basis of a complaint lodged by one Mohammad Asim Mohammad Arif." He added, "We are investigating the case. The complainant has also provided a video clipping of the fashion show to establish his claim."
Meanwhile the trial in the hit-and-run case against actor Salman Khan is set to resume from September 24, 2014. It may be noted the trial in the case had an obstacle in July this year, when the court was informed that the original statements of the witnesses had disappeared. But now the 63 original statements of witnesses and case diaries that had gone missing from the custody of police have been found and placed before judge D W Deshpande thus initiating the trial again.
