As highlighted last week, 'Dabangg 2' didn't have any competition in its second weekend, either from Bollywood or Hollywood.
Sole release of the week, Tom Cruise starrer 'Jack Reacher', wasn't even noticed by most and it's odd release timing (it isn't one of those Christmas/festival outing) further resulted in it being totally ignored.
This resulted in 'Dabangg 2' making merry with over 18 crores coming in. As a result, the Salman Khan starrer now stands at 125 crores, a feat that has been accomplished in 10 days flat. Collections were hit to some extent by key cricket matches on Friday and Sunday but still the film is continuing on a winning note.
With these numbers being accomplished, the film now stands as the third highest grossing film of the year 2012. Collections of 'Agneepath' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' have been surpassed and by the time second week of 'Dabangg 2' comes to a close, the Arbaaz Khan directed affair would have crossed 'Rowdy Rathore' (135 crores) to emerge as the second biggest success after 'Ek Tha Tiger' (199 crores).
The film would have yet another week to bring in substantial moolah since next major releases, 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' and 'Vishwaroop', arrive only on 11th January. Till then, it is time for 'Dabangg 2' to rejoice.
