B-town bubbly and the most lovely Sonakshi Sinha gets up close and personal with IndiaGlitz and shares it all..
Have you seen ÂMaryada RamannaÂ?
I have seen the film after I was done with the shooting because I wanted to see how different it was from the original and I found the entire look change of the situation as the entire film converted to Punjabi film then the dialogs were. I like Maryada Ramana but I am sure SOS is better.
How you choose script? Do you consult anyone?
I consult my family. At times mom sit with me on narration and she gives her feedback accordingly. Papa is not always there during the narration or script session but yes end of the day the decision is mine but there is an open discussion on it.
WhatÂs your equation you share with Akshay as there being reports that he recommend you for many projects?
I donÂt know whether he is recommending me or not. Akshay did lots of film with Katrina as well at some certain point of time because of their chemistry and people liked to watch them again. I think the same thing happens here. As far working relationship is concern I have the best working relationship with Akshay. We both are very punctual people always so no producer/ director ever complain. There is good atmosphere when he is around.
There is a big age difference with you and your co-stars?
When you meet them you donÂt find such age difference. They behave younger than us. ItÂs all in head and I donÂt look them in that way. I am fortunate to work with them.
Did you ever call them uncle?
If I call them uncle they will slap me. Akshay, Ajay and Salman never
2 years gone in the industry now you have made your space?
The day I will think such thing this will be my downfall and will become lazy and unprofessional. Today the film maker or the audience expect me to take out something out of me so I will make sure I am giving it to them.
How conscious you are about your look onscreen?
It actually depends upon person to person. Any person in my situation face criticism looking in a certain ways would have scrabbled by now. I am a very strong person. I believe in working hard, I have being accepted the way I am so nobody is have the right to criticize the way I look. I have worked very hard to reach this position. I have lost 30kgs before entering the industry. I worked very hard and only I know what an emotional struggle it was for me. I am not doing a role which required me to be size zero. They donÂtrequire me to wear certain kinds of clothes. So I am very comfortable and happy doing that.
You have brought the desi look back in bollywood how it feels?
it wasnÂt vanished completely but yes it wasnÂt that often either. It is just the result of returning of trend of such characters. I am lucky to be part of it.
Is it a slap to the people who think this kind of character doesnÂt work on celluloid?
Yeah you can say. There are number of people who went on record and said so many things but I wait till my movie release. Let your work speak for yourself.
JTHJ is also releasing with SOS, Do you have any jitters?
Diwali is a big festival. I think itÂs the big opportunity for both the films. There is an audience for that type of film and there is an audience for our film. Hopefully looking at Diwali nobody will be disappointed.
What makes you to do SOS?
Well that you will find when you will see the film. When I got the script I was laughing I found it so entertaining and so wonderfully written and automatically I wanted to play that character.
Tell us about your character in SOS?
itÂs a very colorful character, a play a very vibrant and a strong girl. In the film you will see me doing action stunts.
How difficult it was playing a Sardarni character?
it wasnÂt difficult neither easy. I am not Panjabi but everybody was convinced that I look like a Panjabi. Working with Ashiwini sir made it easier because he is a typical Punjabi.
In the film you ride a bike can you share the experience?
In the starting I didnÂt know that they will ask me to do so. When the shooting started they asked me and they explained me my entry shot in bike.
How Ajay helped you doing the stunt?
For the basics he taught me how to ride and balance etc and as I enjoy doing such things I picked it up.
Ajay is a prank master so did you played any prank on him?
no no.. These people are expert in playing pranks. If I play any pranks on them then I will be dead. Akshay has pulled me many times now I got used to it so now I keep myself very alert.
How difficult it was dancing with Ajay in the film?
it wasnÂt difficult but Ajay before giving shot he used to nag that why you are making me to do this.... I cant do this. But once the camera rolls he start doing his steps. It was lot of fun as everyone used to clap whenever Ajay sir used to dance.
What memories of Punjab you are holding?
ItÂs the smell of the food. We have experience all the season as we were shooting for very long time. The people are very warm. They were very sweet people.
Who are in the competitors list?
I donÂt look in that way I rather appreciate.. I like Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra.
Whom you trust the most from the industry?
I trust Salman... may be because I know his since the age of 16-17. I would say I trust Akshay as well.
WhatÂs your coming projects?
Lootera shooting got over and the post production is going on and this is most difficult role so far in terms of location, looks and character. Once upon in time in Mumbai shooting just started. Bullet Raja with Tigmanshu and an untitled movie with Prabhu Deva.
