Sallu bhai pats Venky's back

  • IndiaGlitz, [Wednesday,January 18 2012]

Venkatesh has been given a big hand by no less a superstar than Salman Khan himself. You might have thought that it would have been in the fitness of the things for Sallu bhai (who reprised Mahesh in Wanted) to pat Surya bhai's back, but he has cheered the 'bodyguard' instead. The reason is quite obvious. Venky reprised Salman's role in Siddique's Bodyguard.

Acknowledging Khan's compliment for his performance, Venky has said, Salman is a good friend of mine. He has learnt about the movie’s great run here and is extremely happy. He has personally congratulated me for doing a good job.

Actors complimenting their counterparts in other languages are not seldom to see. In the past, Tamil and Telugu stars, not to forget Hindi and regional stars, have lauded each other when remakes were made. The plaudits showered in good spirit on Dhanush for the Kolaveri Di number by someone of Big B's stature is a case in point.

Speaking in a lighter vein, we must also make note of the exceptions that come rarely. Namitha, for one, has said that she would have made a better Silk Smitha on the screen. Is Vidya Balan listening?
