Her information has since helped the police nab the culprits who are believed to have given a fake covid vaccine to about 500 people in Bengal. Among those who have received the fake vaccine are disabled people and transgenders.
And now, yet another vaccination scam has come to light. This time, the size of the scam is bigger. And it's in Mumbai.
The news agency AFP and NDTV have reported that a private hospital in Mumbai has administered saline water to over 2000 people, who believed that they were being given Covishield. As much as R 12.50 Cr has been recovered from the suspects. Two doctors and eight others have been arrested.
A syndicate of fake vaccine givers targeted the residents of a housing complex in the financial capital of India. As per the police, they were planning to give counterfeit jabs by holding at least half a dozen camps in the near future.
Earlier, the staff members of a Bollywood production house were duped by a fake vaccination drive in Mumbai.
