Following Mohanlal's campaigning for Ganesh Kumar who is standing as the LFD candidate, some fraction of cine artistes have reacted against this saying that in a constituency where three cine artistes have been fielded, such campaignings should have been avoided.

Actor Salim Kumar had come out saying that Mohanlal should quit AMMA. Meanwhile AMMA president Innocent said that it is up to the actor to decide all these matters and he cannot do anything in the matter. But Jagadeesh who is the opposite candidate to Ganesh Kumar said that Innocent had mentioned in word that it is not apt for any actors to campaign in a constituency where three cine artistes have been fielded. Following all this uproar Salim Kumar has said that he is quitting AMMA.
