Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, the action-packed entertainer by Prashanth Neel featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has successfully surpassed the ₹400 crore mark at the Indian box office. Now, eagerly anticipated by audiences, it is poised to make its debut on the OTT platform, Netflix India, with its release scheduled for tomorrow on January 20.
Marking Pongal on January 15, Netflix India unveiled its Telugu slate for 2024, featuring Salaar among its offerings. Having initially premiered in theaters on December 22, just ahead of Christmas 2023, the film will soon be accessible for streaming on the Netflix platform. The official Salaar handle confirmed the release date, announcing that the movie would be available on Netflix India in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil on January 20, with the Hindi version release date yet to be disclosed.
Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire had a widespread theatrical release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, accumulating an impressive ₹650 crore at the global box office. Set in the fictional city of Khansaar, the narrative revolves around the friendship of two characters, Deva (Prabhas) and Vardha (Prithviraj). The cast also includes Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, and Sriya Reddy.
Anticipation is high among movie enthusiasts for the sequel, Salaar-Part 2-Shouryanga Parvam. Prabhas' compelling portrayal in a mass action-packed role has resonated well with his fans, marking a strong comeback following previous films like Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush.
In a significant announcement on Makar Sankranti, January 14, Prabhas revealed details about his next project, a romantic horror film titled The Raja Saab. Directed by Maruthi, the movie is set to release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages, adding to the excitement surrounding Prabhas' diverse cinematic ventures. Prabhas apart from Raja Saab is also starring in the sci fi thriller Kalki 2898 AD and also Spirit.
