On Sunday, the makers of 'Salaar', starring Prabhas, revealed that their pan-India film will hit the screens on April 14, 2022. As against the conventions, they have chosen a Thursday for the release date.

A box-office analyst says that the release date is strategically chosen to deliver the best results. April 14 is a public holiday on account of Ambedkar Jayanthi. April 15 happens to be Good Friday, which is also a holiday all over. April 16 is a Saturday, which is a weekend off for many (albeit not for everyone). April 17 is a Sunday.

The Prashanth Neel-directed movie, which went on the floors in January, is up for a superb four-day start at the box-office. It will release not just in south Indian languages but also in Hindi.

Starring Shruti Haasan as the heroine, the film has Madhu Guruswamy as one of the villains. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films.
