Sakshi Vaidya signs Akhil Akkineni, Surender Reddy film

Yet another debutante is being paired opposite Akhil Akkineni. The Akkineni scion, who earlier shared screen space with newcomers like Sayyeshaa Saigal (Akhil) and Kalyani Priyadarshan (Hello), will now romance Mumbai girl Sakshi Vaidya in his next film, Akhil 5. The model-turned-actress has recently signed on the dotted line and will join the sets from May.
Touted to be a spy-thriller, the film is being directed by Surender Reddy and the project marks his first association with Akhil.
Grapevine is that Akhil will be seen as a secret agent in this film inspired by The Bourne series. The makers are considering one among Varasudu and Agent as the film's title. Produced under AK Entertainments and Surender2Cinema, Akhil 5 will go on floors next month in Hyderabad. The makers are also planning to shoot the film in several foreign countries provided the new strain of Covid-19 reduces across the world.
Buzz is that the film also has Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal in a crucial cameo of that of a head spy. Akhil will be seen in a new avatar and the actor has been hitting the gym regularly to sport a bulked-up look for the film.
