Saindhavi, GV. Prakash takes on trolls for false rumours on their divorce

Playback singer Saindhavi has chosen to confront the trolls head-on following her separation from ex-husband and Tamil composer GV Prakash Kumar. Sharing a statement on May 16, she called out those who have been spreading baseless stories and tarnishing someone's character without any foundation.

On May 13, GV Prakash and Saindhavi released a joint statement announcing their decision to part ways after 11 years of marriage. They explained that their separation was aimed at attaining mental peace and personal growth while maintaining mutual respect.

On May 16, Saindhavi took to X to clarify that their divorce was not influenced by any external factors. She expressed disappointment at the numerous YouTube videos fabricating stories despite their plea for privacy. Saindhavi emphasized that randomly assassinating someone's character without justification is unacceptable. The decision to separate was a mutual one made for their own betterment. She also highlighted that she and GV Prakash have been friends for 24 years, since their school days, and they will continue to maintain that friendship moving forward.

On May 16, Saindhavi shared a statement on X and clarified that their divorce was not due to any ‘external force.’

“It's disheartening to see numerous YouTube videos fabricating stories about the news they've received, especially after we requested privacy. To clarify, our divorce is not due to any external force, and randomly assassinating someone's character baselessly is unacceptable. This decision was mutually made by both of us for our betterment. GV Prakash and I have been friends for 24 years since our school days, and we will continue to maintain that

Earlier, to address the insensitivity and trolling, GV Prakash shared a statement in Tamil, stating that their separation was mutual and expressing his disheartenment at people debating and passing judgment without understanding the intricacies of their situation. He emphasized that it is unacceptable to make comments about the personal lives of celebrities and questioned whether people have forgotten the importance of empathy and how comments can hurt others.

GV Prakash and Saindhavi had a grand wedding ceremony in 2013 after being in a strong relationship for over a decade. In 2020, they welcomed their daughter Anvi into the world.
